TUTORING AND MENTORING CAN BE AN ENRICHING EXPERIENCE FOR NOT ONLY THE STUDENTS BUT FOR VOLUNTEERS AS WELL.

Volunteering for Pathways is an opportunity to make a long-lasting, positive difference in the lives of young people. By helping students improve their academic performance and self-worth, you are making a strong, collective statement about how much our community believes in the capabilities of our youth.

The Saint John Pathways to Education is actively recruiting volunteers. In order to provide the highest quality programming for our youth, we rely on hardworking volunteers to contribute as tutors and group mentors.

Vital to the success of the Pathways model is providing a safe and enriching environment for students during our programming activities.

All volunteers are asked to complete the following process:

1) Complete the application form and send it to us by email or drop it off in person at our office.

2) Print off the Criminal Record check form and take to your local police station. They will provide you with a document that you must then return to our office. Candidates must also fill out the Social Development Vulnerable Sector Check which can be returned with the application package.

3) Each candidate is asked to participate in an interview. This meeting provides an opportunity for us to get to know the volunteer candidate and for the volunteer to learn about the program.

4) All volunteers are required to complete a child safety training & Pathways program orientation session.

If you would are interested in volunteering with Pathways to Education, please complete the following forms and send to pathways@trc4youth.ca or call (506) 632-3301 with any questions.
